He litigates property subrogation cases arising out of product liability, construction defect, negligent workmanship and cargo liability. Over the past decade, Matthew has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients via first chair trial victories, mediations and settlement negotiations. He also works with mutual insurance associations and reinsurance carriers throughout the Midwest to offer continuing education and legal counsel to their respective members and client carriers.

Matthew has presented seminars on topics including best practices for subrogation investigations; deposition preparation for adjusters; recoverable damages in subrogation claims; the effective investigation of cargo liability matters; and liability and coverage implications in premises liability claims. He has also published numerous litigation guidelines, including an overview of contractual damage limitations and reporting requirements for warehouses under the FDA Reportable Food Registry.
